Creekside Classic ‘16

We are thrilled to announce the newest addition to Creekside Gospel Music Convention! We are adding a little competitive camaraderie. The Creekside Golf Tournament Classic ‘16 is planned for Wednesday, November 2nd, for men and women of all ages. There will be trophies and bragging rights to be claimed! Monday afternoon, the Exhibit Hall is open, filled with artists’ booths and singers waiting to chat with you. The Hall will be open every day and is part of your free admission to Creekside.
Tuesday, November 1: Creekside presents daytime showcases every day to fill your mornings with music. In the afternoon, Scott Roberts and the Five O’Clock Band will be headlining a stellar cast of artists to warm up the listeners for an evening of song. 
The Diamond Awards will be presented during the Convention on Tuesday night, November 1st, 2016, during a celebration hosted by Dr. Jerry and Jan Goff. Make sure your favorite artist is recognized. Creekside Adds Afternoon Jam Sessions


Less than two months until Creekside and SGN Scoops is working hard to make sure the artists and the attendees have a terrific time. From November 2nd through the 5th, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee will again welcome a host of wonderful Southern Gospel artists and fans, filling the auditorium of the Smoky Mountain Convention Center.

This month, the special news is that Creekside will have a Jam Session each afternoon from Tuesday until Thursday, featuring the artists that are instrumentalists. Many of the terrific vocalists are great players and pickers and we want you to enjoy all of their talents in the relaxed, unstructured atmosphere of a backstage jam session. Many of the Creekside Gospel Music friends are returning, as well as some new artists. You will enjoy the music of The Freemans, The Hinson Family, Mark209, the Pine Ridge Boys, Jordan’s Bridge, the Hoskins Family, 11th Hour, the Williamsons, the Guardians, and more. Daily showcases with Vonda Easley and Ava Kasich will highlight special guest artists like Ascension Quartet, Alliance Quartet, Exodus, John Lanier, Malachi, Billy Hodges, and others. There are many more surprises to come.

Creekside Gospel Music Convention welcomes the return of one of last year's favorite events, Midnight Prayer. Fans and artists will gather together after the concerts before heading to sleep. The services feature prayer, music and fellowship. Everyone so enjoyed these services last year that Creekside is bringing them back from Monday night through Wednesday night.

We are excited to also welcome back WATC Channel 57, Atlanta, Georgia on Monday and Tuesday nights. They will join us to do a live taping of the evening concerts. Be sure you are present to participate in all of the events and then invite your friends to view WATC Channel 57 on the web at watc.tv/onlinestreaming/ at a date and time to be announced.

Creekside Gospel Music Convention begins on Monday night with the Lou Hildreth Honors. Each year, Lou salutes a member of the Southern Gospel Music industry for their contributions to Southern Gospel. Be sure you are there!

Tuesday night we will present the 2015 Diamond Awards, hosted by Dr. Jerry Goff and Jan Buckner-Goff, with special appearances by Award nominees. You won’t want to miss this evening where we honor the best in Gospel music. The Diamond Award nominations are continue on the SGN Scoops website until September 15th, so hurry by to click on the link and vote for your favorites in The Diamond Awards Top Five - the final round of nominations. Make sure your voice is heard and vote today!

We need to remind you that Creekside tickets are free but must be reserved as soon as possible. Please make your plans to join us in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee on November 2nd through 5th at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center. Concerts begin on Monday night at 6:00pm.  Tuesday and Thursday mornings, there will be artist showcases from 10am until 2pm. Wednesday morning, there will be free time for you to investigate the great eateries and shops of Pigeon Forge. Wednesday and Thursday nights we continue with great music and special guests, as well as the Red Back Hymnal Choir.

If you like to hang out with your favorite artists, the Exhibit Hall will be filled with artist booths and group members waiting to chat with you. New this year will be the SGN Scoops Social Media Booth. This is your go-to place to sign up for notification of future events, to talk with your favorite Social Media team member, or even to charge your phone. Digital media accessories will also be available in case you forgot something at home. Purchase your phone chargers, stylus pens and phone cables at this booth. Creekside Gospel Music Convention Update

Creekside Gospel Music Convention is getting ever closer and we have some exciting news to share this month. You know by now that Creekside tickets are free but must be reserved. Please make your plans to join us in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee on November 2nd through 5th at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center.
We are thrilled this month to tell you about the Showcases being held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during the day at Creekside. Chapel Valley Records, Ava Kasich and Vonda Easley of Hey Y’all Media are working together to bring some wonderful artists to the daytime stage. Ava comments, "This will be my third year at Creekside Gospel Convention and every year it gets better and better. The atmosphere of worship is wonderful and the addition of the Midnight Prayer is icing on the cake. Can't wait to see what God has planned for us all this year! See you there!” Vonda notes, “I had such an awesome time working with Ava Kasich during the showcases at Southern Gospel Weekend in Oxford, Alabama and I am thrilled to get to do this again at Creekside Gospel Music Convention. This is going to be a great time and just look at some the artists participating: The Hoskins Family, From The Ashes, Exodus, John Lanier, The Riders, Majesty III, Malachi, Ascension Quartet, Clear Vision Quartet, Drummond Family, Webb Quartet and Billy Hodges.”

Creekside Welcomes Ava Kasich

Ava started singing professionally at the age of 3 yrs old featured in local churches in the Dallas-Ft Worth area of Texas. Ava loves the Lord with all her heart and it shows in her anointed singing! Her testimony of God’s healing power in her body alone is worth having her come and minister to your Church.

In 1980 she began traveling with Wally Fowler of Nashville, Tenn. as a featured and background vocalist. The group was called Wally Fowler and the Tennessee Top Ten. They traveled throughout the United States performing Southern Gospel Music at major venues.

In 1989 Ava moved to Branson, Missouri and began working with several known artists in the gospel music industry, such as Boxcar Willie and Barbara Fairchild. While in Branson, Ava became a major part in the Branson Gospel Music Association. Not only performing but also helping to bring in new talent to perform in the Branson area.

In 2001 Ava was named the Branson Gospel Female Vocalist of the Year. Since winning that award Ava has been traveling throughout the United States singing Southern Gospel Music in churches and other venues. She has been the opening performer for such known Southern Gospel Talent as, Karen Peck & New River, The Hemphills, and others.

In 2001 Ava recorded and released her first album entitled Singin 4 Him. It was a compilation of old and new Southern Gospel Songs.

In 2003 Ava became a national recording artist with the release of her second album entitled “Try Once Again.” Several songs on this album were released to the national media. They included the title song Try Once Again and He Came Through. These songs are being played throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Asia and the Caribbean. This album was produced by Les Butler of Butler Music Group and Family Music Group and recorded in Nashville, TN. Jason and Aaron Crabb of the Crabb Family were gracious enough to sing back up on two of Ava’s songs on this album.

Not long ago at the National Quartet Convention Ms Dottie Rambo agreed to record two duets with Ava. Dottie was called home to heaven before that happened. Ava has spent most of her time touring throughout the Midwest and Southeastern United States singing and giving her testimony at churches, women’s conferences and other venue’s. She has been seen on National TV on the Jim Bakker Show out of Branson, MO and the Jimmy Snow show in Nashville, TN. She would love to come and lift up the name of Jesus through song at your next event.

In 2009 Ava recorded and released her third album entitled His Grace Is Amazing.

In 2011 Ava recorded and releaser her fourth and newest album entitled Stones.

Ava won the 2012 Beacon Award for Soloist of the year and her new single "Stones" won the 2012 Beacon award for song of the year.

Ava has a wonderful testimony of how God has healed her body that she loves to share with others. Ava has shared the stage with such artist’s as; Marty Robbin’s, Mel Tillis, Merle Haggard, Marty Haggard, Roy Acuff, Willie Nelson, Howard & Vestal Goodman, Johnny Minick, The Florida Boy’s, Gold City, Karen Peck & New River, The Hemphill’s, and the Chuckwagon Gang, as well as others.

Creekside Gospel Music Convention Welcomes Ken & Jean Grady, Ava Kasich, Jim Sheldon and Shannon Knight!

Plans for the Creekside Gospel Music Convention are in full swing! We are excited to announce Ken and Jean Grady of Gospel Music Today will be part of the event. “We’re excited about the Creekside Gospel Music Convention,” Ken shares, “We’ve worked with Rob Patz many times and we’re expecting a first class event.
Branson’s favorite female voice,  Ava Kasich confirmed her attendance as well: “I am so thrilled to be a part of The Creekside Gospel Music Convention in Pigeon Forge, TN!  What a wonderful time of fellowship and the greatest music in the world- SOUTHERN GOSPEL MUSIC!!!  I am honored to be nominated for the 2012 Diamond Award for Christian Country Album of the Year for STONES. See you there!”
Christian Country artist, Jim Sheldon announced he would join the celebration too! “The folks at SGNScoops do such a great job with this awards program. I am honored to be included and totally shocked and excited to see my name in three categories for the Diamond Awards,” Sheldon offers.
Crossroads/Skyland Label recording artist, Shannon Knight is looking forward to meeting gospel music fans during the Creekside Gospel Music Convention! Shannon appears weekly on the Trinity Broadcasting Network and has appeared with The Daryl Williams Trio on Gaither Homecoming Videos. Shannon is very excited about appearing at the Creekside Gospel Music Convention where he will be performing songs from his brand new solo project, BROKEN AND BLESSED. Shannon will also be performing his radio single, “Good News” which is soon to be released to radio. Shannon looks forward to meeting with all of the gospel music fans at this great event!
