More than a Convention...it's an Experience!

Wow! As you are reading this update, we are just days away from the 2015 Creekside Gospel Music Convention. It all begins on Monday, November 2nd at 4:00pm when the doors open for the first concert of the week: the Monday afternoon Jam Session! Following this, we kick off the evening concerts. Each night there is Midnight Prayer at 12:00am. Tuesday and Thursday mornings start bright and early with Showcases at 10:00am. There will be Jam Sessions each afternoon with evening Concerts following. The whole Convention takes place at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center in beautiful Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and we want to see YOU there!

Monday night, November 2nd, our special event during the concert will be the Lou Hildreth Honors Jerry and the Singing Goffs. Jerry and the Singing Goffs were well known for their great singing, songs that still are being sung today, and the communication excellence of Dr. Jerry Goff. One of best-known lineups was Jerry Goff, Tank Tackett and Bill Dykes. Other members included Barry Hess, Gary Buckles, Art Ross, Wally Goff, Bobby Howard, Gary Valentine, Dave Thomas, David Harvell, Dave Rowland, David Hoskins and Gene Jones, among others.They had several hits including “I’ll See You In The Rapture,” “Please Search The Book Again” and “I Am Blessed.” The most memorable part of their concerts was when Dr. Goff brought out his trumpet and thrilled the audience with his playing. Now it’s time to show our appreciation for his work in Southern Gospel music. Lou Hildreth will honor Jerry and the Singing Goffs on Monday night. All are welcome - fans, friends, and family of these great artists!


Tuesday and Thursday, from 10am until 2pm, Creekside presents showcases with your hosts Vonda Easley and Ava Kasich. These ladies will be bringing in special guest artists like Ascension Quartet, Alliance Quartet, Exodus, John Lanier, Malachi, Billy Hodges, and others. 


Tuesday night we will present the 2015 Diamond Awards, hosted by Dr. Jerry Goff and Jan Buckner-Goff, with special appearances by Award nominees. You won’t want to miss this evening where we honor the best in Gospel music. Each year we have welcomed surprise guests, like Gerald and Jason Crabb, Jeff and Sheri Easter, Karen Peck and New River, The Blackwoods, Ed O’Neal and the Dixie Melody Boys, and more. So come prepared for a great evening.

Wednesday morning, November 4th, we welcome the Jason Runnels and Friends Morning Show, featuring Jason Runnels and Hope’s Journey with special guests The Pine Ridge Boys from Inman, South Carolina.
Make plans to be with us for a morning of worship and fun for all ages. Also, we will be honoring Pine Ridge Boy for 52 years in Gospel Music. This event will be held at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center, Wednesday November 4th, at 8:30 am. Coffee and doughnuts will be served. Tickets are only $10. New this year will be the SGN Scoops Social Media Booth. Creekside Adds Afternoon Jam Sessions


Less than two months until Creekside and SGN Scoops is working hard to make sure the artists and the attendees have a terrific time. From November 2nd through the 5th, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee will again welcome a host of wonderful Southern Gospel artists and fans, filling the auditorium of the Smoky Mountain Convention Center.

This month, the special news is that Creekside will have a Jam Session each afternoon from Tuesday until Thursday, featuring the artists that are instrumentalists. Many of the terrific vocalists are great players and pickers and we want you to enjoy all of their talents in the relaxed, unstructured atmosphere of a backstage jam session. Many of the Creekside Gospel Music friends are returning, as well as some new artists. You will enjoy the music of The Freemans, The Hinson Family, Mark209, the Pine Ridge Boys, Jordan’s Bridge, the Hoskins Family, 11th Hour, the Williamsons, the Guardians, and more. Daily showcases with Vonda Easley and Ava Kasich will highlight special guest artists like Ascension Quartet, Alliance Quartet, Exodus, John Lanier, Malachi, Billy Hodges, and others. There are many more surprises to come.

Creekside Gospel Music Convention welcomes the return of one of last year's favorite events, Midnight Prayer. Fans and artists will gather together after the concerts before heading to sleep. The services feature prayer, music and fellowship. Everyone so enjoyed these services last year that Creekside is bringing them back from Monday night through Wednesday night.

We are excited to also welcome back WATC Channel 57, Atlanta, Georgia on Monday and Tuesday nights. They will join us to do a live taping of the evening concerts. Be sure you are present to participate in all of the events and then invite your friends to view WATC Channel 57 on the web at watc.tv/onlinestreaming/ at a date and time to be announced.

Creekside Gospel Music Convention begins on Monday night with the Lou Hildreth Honors. Each year, Lou salutes a member of the Southern Gospel Music industry for their contributions to Southern Gospel. Be sure you are there!

Tuesday night we will present the 2015 Diamond Awards, hosted by Dr. Jerry Goff and Jan Buckner-Goff, with special appearances by Award nominees. You won’t want to miss this evening where we honor the best in Gospel music. We need to remind you that Creekside tickets are free but must be reserved as soon as possible. Creekside Gospel Music Convention Welcomes The Hinson Family!


Creekside GMC is getting ever closer and we have a lot of exciting news to share this month, so I will get right to it! First of all, just a reminder that Creekside tickets are free but must be reserved today. We have already announced that many of our Gospel music friends are returning, as well as some new artists. You know you will enjoy the music of The Freemans, the award-winning family group who are much loved by our Creekside audience. Other wonderful artists on the schedule include Mark209, the Pine Ridge Boys, Jordan’s Bridge, the Hoskins Family, 11th Hour, the Williamsons, the Guardians, and many more.
One of the newest artists to be added to the Creekside program are the Hinson Family! SGN Scoops introduced our readers to Weston, Christy and Jordan Hinson back in March of 2014, and their sound is being embraced across the country. With more than a hint of father Kenny Hinson’s unmistakable flavor, plus added touches of Bluegrass and Soul music, the Hinson Family’s music will touch your heart.

Freemans, Guardians, Mark209, Hoskins family to appear at Creekside 2015

It’s July already and that means there is less than four months until Creekside Gospel Music Convention invades Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. On November 2nd through 5th, Southern Gospel and Christian Country artists and fans will converge upon the Smoky Mountain Convention Center for four nights and three days of music, music and more music!

The Guardians to appear at Creekside Gospel Music Convention


Pigeon Forge, TN - The Guardians from Ohio are the newest artist  scheduled to appear at Creekside Gospel Music Convention in Pigeon Forge, TN. This male trio, consisting of Dean Hickman, Dale Uhrig and John Darin Rowsey have had several songs on the national charts, with their latest single entitled "Somebody Prays," also charting. 
"The Guardians are a fantastic trio and we are thrilled that they will be our 2015 Diamond Awards Spotlight Artist!" says Rob Patz of SGN Scoops, one of the sponsors of this event. "The guys will be with us for all four days and I know the Creekside audiences will embrace them and their ministry. Creekside Gospel Music Convention Update

Creekside Gospel Music Convention is getting ever closer and we have some exciting news to share this month. You know by now that Creekside tickets are free but must be reserved. We are thrilled this month to tell you about the Showcases being held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during the day at Creekside. Chapel Valley Records, Ava Kasich and Vonda Easley of Hey Y’all Media are working together to bring some wonderful artists to the daytime stage. Ava comments, "This will be my third year at Creekside Gospel Convention and every year it gets better and better. The atmosphere of worship is wonderful and the addition of the Midnight Prayer is icing on the cake. Can't wait to see what God has planned for us all this year! See you there!” Vonda notes, “I had such an awesome time working with Ava Kasich during the showcases at Southern Gospel Weekend in Oxford, Alabama and I am thrilled to get to do this again at Creekside Gospel Music Convention. Welcome to the update for 2015 Creekside Gospel Music Convention! Can you believe that Creekside is only Seven months away? Creekside runs from November 2nd through November 5th at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. There will be lots of music, fellowship, fun and food!
Creekside annual events include the Lou Hildreth Honors on Monday night. This past year, Lou Hildreth honored Willie Wynn. In 2015, the honoree will be…but I can’t tell you yet because it’s a secret! Stay tuned to this page for more information!
The Diamond Awards take place on Tuesday night with many special guests. See below for the Road to the 2015 Diamond Awards.
Other events include showcases and an evening of choir singing. New for 2014 was the evening Midnight Prayer. This is sure to be repeated in 2015! Perhaps even the Great Doughnut Caper…again, check back here for the latest information.

The Road to the 2015 Diamond Awards

 We are traveling the Road to the 2015 Diamond Awards during this nomination period, by highlighting the definition of each award category on the SGN Scoops website. Be sure to visit the website at www.sgnscoops.com regularly to see the latest posting on this series. We outline who is eligible for each award and also tell you who the 2014 winner was for that category.
            After March 31, the list of nominees will be posted on the site and fans will then nominate their favorites from this list, with a maximum of five names nominated per award. In this way, the field of nominees will be narrowed to 10, voted on by fans once more and then narrowed to five. This final list of five will then be voted on by fans to find the one winner for each award.
